los rios rancho.

This past weekend we knew we were in for the long haul when we had not just two full days with all three kids, but three. Yikes. By Saturday morning at 9 am the whining had already started to drive us a bit mad so we slathered on the sunscreen and headed 15 minutes into the hillside to picnic at Los Rios Rancho in Oak Glen, California. Los Rios Rancho is a sweet little apple farm that is located on the Oak Glen Preserve. I've posted photos from our Oak Glen visits before. Truth is we go there quite a bit, since it is so close to home and there is always so much to do! Apple season tends to be so busy we avoid it that time of year, but there is always loads to do in the off-season too.

So, I just threw some fruit, cheese & crackers, and PB&Js into a tote and we made a quick pit stop to the Starbucks drive-thru for some cold brew before winding our way up the hillside. We settled under a shady spot at a time when there was no one in the park at the Ranch, but shortly after we got there there the park filled up fast. We discovered there was a sweet little petting zoo and I couldn't help be overcome with the cuteness that was the bunny pen. Babies and bunnies, my friends. Babies and bunnies.

That was it! It was 82 degrees and balmy, honestly it felt amazing in the shade. Adeline tummy-timed with the best of them and the big kids ran around, spraying their spray-bottles in imaginary battles with monsters & dinosaurs and kicked a ball around. Banjo the pup felt happy to be included. And there was very little whining you guys. I'd call it a win.
